1986年の開設以来20年という年月を経たgggとこれに続くこと15年のddd。両ギャラリーでこれまでに展覧会を開催した国内外デザイナー166名から寄せられた、この20年間の代表作品とコメントにより構成。価値観、コミュニケーションの在り方がめまぐるしく変化する時代にデザインがいかに立ち向かい、共生し、解答を出してきたかを検証。グラフィックデザインの創造的な未来を展望しようという試み。

The ginza graphic gallery and its counterpart in Osaka, ddd gallery, celebrated ggg's 20th anniversary. The exhibition introduced representative works produced between 1986 and 2006 by 166 designers, both from Japan and abroad, who have exhibited at the two galleries over the past two decades. It sought to demonstrate how design confronted, coexisted with, and provided solutions for an era in which values and communication styles were rapidly changing. It was an attempt to glimpse into a creative future for design.

Born in Kanda. After having worked at SUN-AD, established Butterfly Stroke in 1999. Produced and directed Kami-Robo and COPET. He is an art director and creative director who handles not only advertising but also graphics and images from planning to presentation. Freely using scribbled sketches and photos or computer generated graphics, he is known for his harp, rousing visual creativity, and has many corporate clients, Member of JAGDA, Tokyo TDC, Tokyo ADC.

Born in Tokyo. after graduating from Kuwasawa Design School in 1962, he worked at advertising design agencies before establishing the Masuteru Aoba Design Office in 1969. His numerous awards include the Asahi Advertising Award, the Brno International Graphic Design Biennale Grand Prix, the Warsaw International Poster Biennale Gold prize, and the New York Art Directors Club International Exhibition Gold Prize. In 1993 he produced the first official poster for the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics. He won the JAAC Yamana Prize in 1995, and in 2006 was awarded the Medal with Purple Ribbon. He is a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale, a committee member of the Tokyo Art Directors Club and a director of Japan Graphic Designers Association.

Born in Kanagawa Prefecture, he graduated from the Industrial Art Design Department of Kanagawa Kogyo High School as well as from the Kuwasawa Design Institute. He joined Light Publicity in 1964 ad established the Katsumi Asaba Design Room in 1975. He went to Yunnan, China, in 1990 to fine the illusive Nakhi pictographic script and had a one-man show of new works at the ggg. Recent works in advertising include "Nature is the Model" for the Saison Group, "A Delicious Life" for Seibu Department Store, "Highway of Dreams" for Suntory Old, "A Regular Guy when Drinking" for Suntory White and "Schwarzenegger Eats " for Nissin Foods among others. His many awards include JAAC Honorable Mention in 1985, the ADC Members Award in 1974, 1979 and 1989, the Mainichi Design Award in 1980, the Japan Advertising Prize, Yamana Award in 1989 and the ADC Members Hiromu Hara Award in 1990. He is a member of Tokyo ADC and JAGDA and Chairman of Tokyo TDC.

Born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1940. After graduating from Kuwasawa Design School and working at Keinosuke Sato Typography Studio and Light Publicity, he founded Katsumi Asaba Design Studio in 1975. Many of his creations as an art director have made a lasting mark in the history of Japanese advertising design. Representative works include landmark ads for Seibu Department Stores, Suntory and Takeda Pharmaceutical Company, and package design for Kirin tea. Asaba is an expert on Dongba, an ancient pictorial script still used in some areas of China. He has received numerous awards, including the Japan Advertising Artists Club Special Prize, Tokyo Type Directors Club Award, Mainichi Design Prize, Japan Advertising Awards Yamana Prize, Japan Academy Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction, Tokyo Art Directors Club Grand Prix, and two decorations from the Japanese Government: a Medal with Purple Ribbon; and the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette. Asaba is chairman of the Tokyo Type Directors Club, a committee member of the Tokyo Art Directors Club, president of JAGDA (Japan Graphic Designers Association), Japan representative in the Alliance Graphique Internationale, director of Kuwasawa Design School, and visiting professor at Tokyo Zokei University and Kyoto Seika University. He has a 6th level ranking in table tennis.

Among the many prizes he has won to date are the Tokyo ADC Grand Prize, Tokyo TDC Members Award and the Mainichi Advertising Award. He is a member of Tokyo ADC, Tokyo TDC and JAGDA.

He established his own company, Beans Co., Ltd., in 1978. Through the years he has forged a prominent career as a graphic designer and art director, the latter area encompassing the realms of advertising, music, publishing, and TV. Today, with innovative creations integrating photography and typography, his design work continues to span across multiple genres. Inoue's major awards received to date include the Tokyo ADC Grand Prize, Tokyo TDC Grand Prize, JAAC Yamana Prize and Mainichi Design Award. Born in Sapporo, Hokkaido Prefecture, Kasai Kaoru joined SUN-AD Company Limited in 1973 after stints working at Bunka Printing Co., Ltd. and Ohtani Design. He currently serves as advisor at SUN-AD Company Limited. His creative activities span a wide range, including advertising and art direction for Suntory Oolong Tea, United Arrows, Toraya Confectionery, and TORAYA CAFÉ, as well as corporate identity and signage, graphics and title design for films and theaters, and book design. Major awards received include the Tokyo ADC Grand Prix, Hiromu Hara Memorial Prize, Mainichi Design Award, and the Yusaku Kamekura Design Award. His publications include KASAI Kaoru 1968 (Art Design Publishing).

Born in Kyoto, he got his M.A. in design from UCLA in 1977 and was a teaching assistant in video and computer graphics. In Japan, he worked in the Takenobu Igarasghi Design Studio before established Polygon Pictures in 1983. Main works include a 6-disc video disc series, and in computer graphics, "Dancing Sony," and "In Search of performing Axis" among others. He won the 1991 Tokyo Typo-Directors Club Members' Gold Award and published "a Collection of Works by Toshifumi Kawahara: Dancing Alphabet" (Rikuyosha).

Kitagawa was cited in "New Blood" as one of 20 contemporary Japanese "movers and shakers" in the realms of art and design. Born in Utsunomiya, Katsu Kimura was inspired by the American packages brought by the Occupation forces after the War and established himself as a package designer in 1960. As a pioneer in the field of package design, his first solo exhibition in 1968 proposed  a new concept of packaging. He uses lively, rhythmical designs to create his own unique world. Kimura's activities are not limited to Japan, and he counts the design of shopping bags for Bloomingdale's Department Store in New York among his projects. His numerous awards include the New York Top Packaging Award, the Tokyo Art Directors Club Award, and the Japan Package Design Award special Prize and Golden Prize. He is a member of the Tokyo Art Directors Club and the Japan Graphic Designers Association.

Born in Tokyo. Graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in 1988 and joined Shiseido. Assigned to work in Paris, 1992-96. Presently Art Director in the Advertising Department. Born in Tokyo, Kudo graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts (former Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music) in 1988. That same year he joined Shiseido, where he was involved in developing designs for both domestic and overseas markets. He was posted to Paris from 1992 to 1996. In 2005 he left Shiseido and established Communication Design Laboratory with designer Keiko Hirano. He engages in cross-genre activities that range from product design to brand image direction, but share the common perspective of “designing communication.” Kudo is also a part-time lecturer at Tokyo University of the Arts. His numerous domestic and international awards include the 2001 Mainichi Design Award, the Tokyo ADC Members Award, the Tokyo ADC Award, the American Institute of Architects New York Design Award, the ID-Award, the Japan Package Design Grand Prize, the Japan Display Design Association Grand Prize, and the New York ADC Silver Prize. Kudo’s notable projects include cosmetics product and package design for Shiseido Men, IPSA, and Za; creative direction and design for the Shiseido Qiora product line and its New York shop; brand image direction for Mitsukoshi; directing the development and design of the “Kihoshi” line of packaging paper produced by Takeo and Nisshinbo; and overall brand direction for Shiseido Professional.

Born in Fukuoka Prefecture, he graduated from Kokura Kogyou High School. Born in Tokyo. Received a degree in graphic design from Tama Art University in 1989 and joined Hakuhodo that same year. While working at the advertising agency, he handled everything from product development an CI design to packaging, shop and advertising promotional campaigns. In May 2000, he left Hakuhodo and founded the creative studio, Samurai. He has continued to demonstrate new possibilities in art direction without being constrained by existing paradigms. His main awards include the Tokyo ADC Grand Prize, Yusaku Kamekura Award and the New York Festival Silver Prize. at present he is working as a creative director on corporate identity projects and kindergarten renovations, and doing brand development and product designs for cosmetic firms. The projects demonstrate his ability to work as an art director in multiple fields without being constrained by the traditional boundaries separating them.

Born in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture. He graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music (now, Tokyo University of the Arts) with a degree in Visual Design. After initially working in the advertising department of Shiseido, he went freelance in 1971. He won a Tokyo ADC Award in 1985, a Mainichi Design Award in 1991, and the Education Minister’s Art Encouragement Prize for young artists in 1997. He has also won numerous awards at international poster competitions, including at the New York Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). His works are part of permanent collections at many art museums both in Japan and abroad. Mr. Sato is presently a member of JAGDA, AGI, Japan Design Committee, Tokyo ADC and Tokyo TDC. He is best known for his unique style of expression acclaimed for its Oriental touch, but in recent years he has been working with other modes of free expression. He is a professor at Tama Art University.

Born in Tokyo. His real name is Yuji SAto. He left Tokyo Gakugei University but graduated from the Kuwasawa Design Institute. He established the Design Farm in 1975 after working in the Oka Studio. His awards include the 1977 New York  ADC "Japanese Graphic Design Exhibition" Silver Medal, the 1978 Bruno Graphic Design Biennale Gold Medal, the 1979 Lahti Poster Biennale Gold Medal, and the 1989 Bulgaria Artists Union Award. Among his many one-man shows at home and abroad are "My Theory of Evolution" (Gallery Okabe) in 1972, "U.G. Sato Poster Exhibition" (La Salle Museum of Art, Italy). Books: "The Personal Theory of Evolution by U.G. Sato," "In the Fantastic Zoo," "The Two-legged and The Four-legged" and "Wooden Boxes."

Born on Ukashima in Yamaguchi, the last of eight children in a fisherman’s family. In his fourth year of elementary school, he became enthralled by poster art under the influence of a teacher. After graduating from Osaka Designers' College, he began working in Osaka, and came to know of and admire Shin Matsunaga; he finally joined Matsunaga's studio in 1984. He later worked for Taki Corporation and I&S/BBDO, and then in 1995 he established Shinmura Design Office. He is a member of JAGDA and the New York ADC.

Born in Tokyo. Through his unique ways of creating images of the conscious realm, he continues to have a profound influence on many creative artist. Hi is also known as a leading expert in Asian iconography and has been involved in the planning and organization of numerous exhibitions and books introducing Asian cultures. Major awards include the Japan Advertising Artist Club (JAAC) Award, the Arts Encouragement Prize for New Artists of the Agency for cultural Affairs, and the Mainichi Arts Award. In 1997, he received the Medal with the purple Ribbon given by the Japanese Government for distinguished contributions to the arts and academia. He has also planned a long list of publications in his native language. Professor Emeritus at Kobe Design University.

Born in Tokyo in 1932, he graduated in 1955 from Tokyo University of the Arts with a degree in architecture. He was a guest professor at Design College of Ulm, West Germany between 1964 and 1967, and a professor of visual information and design at Kobe Design University from 1989 to 2002. Since April 2010 he has served as Director of the Research Institute of Asian Design, Kobe Design University. He is a professor Emeritus of Kobe Design University.

That year he also founded Enlightenment Publishing to publish his own works and books by young artists. Born in Aichi Prefecture. Graduated from the Art Department of Aichi Asahigaoka Prefectural high School, albeit unmotivated. While he was in the Graphic Design Department of Tama Art University, he started to work at the Kosakusha publishing house and dropped out of university. after he worked as an art director for Kosakusha and For Sale, he went freelance in 1988. Realizing in 1990 that his studio did not have a name, he named it "cozfish." By then he had dealt with more than a thousand book designs. At present, capitalizing on his "extraordinary power to enchant" every kind of printed matter, he is active across a broad range of projects.

Director of cozfish. Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1959. While a student at Tama Art University, Sobue started working part-time at Kousakusha in 1981, having been inspired by Kohei Sugiura; he subsequently left the university. As a student he was a member of the university manga club along with older students Kotobuki Shiriagari and Masahiko Kikuni. Sobue left Kousakusha in 1987. After working as art director at For Sale Corporation, which was founded by Yasushi Akimoto, he became independent in 1988 and founded cozfish in 1990. He has created book bindings and designs in various genres including the humanities, novels and manga. He has received attention for unconventional book designs--a notable example being a manga book by Sensha Yoshida--with elements such as intentionally out-of-order pages and diagonal cutting. In recent years Sobue has also worked on the graphics and art direction of numerous exhibitions, including "Snoopy/Ever and Never: the art of Peanuts," "Evangelion Exhibition," "GeGeGe no Kitaro," and "Go Go Miffy/55 Years with Miffy"; and created unique exhibition-related goods bursting with distinctive flair.

Graduated from Chubi Central Art School om 1969 and joined the production department of Asatsu Inc. He became independent in 1972 and in 1984 was responsible for developing a worldwide campaign image for Fiat, Italy. In 1995 he designed a sexy robot character for the HBO cable TV series "T&A 2000." He won the Vargas Award in the USA in 1996 and in 1999 the Good Design Award's Grand Prix for his Sony AIBO robot dong, as well as the Grand Prix from the Media Arts Festival. The first AIBO design was included in the permanent collections of both the Smithsonian Institution and the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 2001. In the same year, he was awarded the Asahi Shimbun Prize for Invention and Innovation. He has held Los Angeles. The many published collections of his works include "Sexy Robot," "Pinup," "HYPER ILLUSTRATION 1.2," "THE GYNOIDS."

Born in 1936 in Tokyo, Keiichi Tanaami graduated from Musashino Art University. He has been a professor at the Kyoto University of Art and Design since 1991. Since the 1960s he has pursued an active career as a graphic designer, a film maker and an artist, successfully transcending the boundaries between the three, to become a trailblazing representation of a modern, versatile artist, who exerts a considerable influence on artists around the world. Recent major exhibitions include “International Pop” (Walker Art Center, Dallas Museum of Art, Philadelphia Museum of Art, USA; 2015-2016), “The World Goes Pop” (Tate Modern, London; 2015), “Japanorama. A new vision on art since 1970” (Centre Pompidou-Metz, France; 2017), “Hello World. Revising a Collection” (Hamburger Bahnhof - Museum für Gegenwart, Berlin, Germany; 2018), “Keiichi Tanaami” (K11 Foundation, Guangzhou, China; 2018), and many more. In recent times, major global art galleries, such as MoMA (USA), Walker Art Center (USA), Art Institute of Chicago (USA), M+ Museum for Visual Culture (Hong Kong), National Portrait Gallery (USA), Hamburger Bahnhof (Germany) house collections of his works.

Since then, he has engaged in an array of avant-garde and highly playful creative activities in areas including animation ,painting, illustration and editorial design. Along with his graphic design work, he has continuously experimented in the visual realm as well, and his works have been shown at film festivals around the world. Since 1981, he adopted an artistic style of expression in which he borrowed numerous Asian forms such as strange-looking pines, cranes and elephants, which he has fashioned into paintings, films and prints depicting the realms of memories and dreams. His solo exhibitions include Musee-Chateau d'Annecy in France, the Ikeda Museum of 20th Century Art, the Transplant Gallery in New York. His main publications include "BLOW UP," "The Dancing Goldfish," and "spiral." He also has many films and animation DVDs

東京生まれ。東洋美術学校卒業後、BISEを経て、1996年John and Jane Doe. Incを設立。CG制作の経験を生かし、ユニークなキャラクターを取り入れた「ラフォーレ・グランバザール」シリーズを皮切りに、CMディレクターとしての活動が始まる。現在は年間30本以上のCMの演出を担当。また、近年木彫りを多数制作。常に彼の手は休まることなく動き続けている。

Born in Tokyo. After graduating from Tokyo Institute of Art and Design, he joined BISE in 1986. He established John and Jane Doe Inc. in 1996. Starting with the "Laforet Grand Bazar" series, in which he applied his experience in CG production to the incorporation of unique characters in commercial messages, became active as ad director of commercials. Today he oversees production of more than 30 commercials each year. In recent years he has also created numerous sculptures in wood. He is constantly at work, never allowing his creative hands to rest.

In 1985 he graduated from the Faculty of Art and Design of Tama Art University, and joined Hakuhodo Inc. in the same year. after serving as an art director and senior creative director at this major ad agency, in May 2003 he established and became president of Hakuhodo Design, which handles all aspects of branding from strategies to advertising. His numerous awards include the JAGDA New Designer Award, the Nikkei Advertising Awards Grand Prize, the Fuji Sankei Group Advertising Grand Prize, Creator of the Year 2004, and the 2005 Tokyo ADC Awards Grand Prize. Born in Osaka, he left the sculpture department of the Tokyo National University of Fine Art and Music in 1951 and helped establish the Nippon Design Center in 1960. Born in Osaka, Mr Nagai attended Tokyo National University of Fine Arts an Music until withdrawing in 1951. In 1960 he participated in the founding of Nippon Design Center, where he currently serves as Senior Executive Advisor. He has created numerous symbols through the years, including for the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics, Expo'75 in Okinawa and Asahi Breweries. He has also designed a broad range of posters for corporate advertising, musical performances, exhibitions, etc., and overseas. Mr. Nagai is a member of Tokyo ADC and AGI.

Born in Osaka, Kazumasa Nagai attended Tokyo National University of Fine Arts (now Tokyo University of the Arts), where he studied Sculpture until withdrawing in 1951. In 1960, he participated in the founding of the Nippon Design Center, together with Ikko Tanaka and other up-and-coming young designers. In 1975 Mr. Nagai became that organization’s president, and he currently serves as its chief executive advisor. He also serves as special advisor to JAGDA.
During his long career he has created logomarks, CI and posters for numerous clients including: the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics, Okinawa Expo ’75, Ibaraki and Niigata prefectures, Japan Agricultural Cooperatives (JA), Asahi Breweries, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, etc. In the late 1980s Mr. Nagai launched his “LIFE” series featuring flora and fauna motifs, and in 2003 his creative endeavors expanded to copperplate printmaking.
He has won a host of awards, both global and domestic: Tokyo ADC Grand Prize, Yusaku Kamekura Design Award, Mainichi Design Award, Mainichi Art Award, Himeji Cultural Arts Grand Prize, Warsaw International Poster Biennale Gold Prize, and International Biennial of Graphic Design Brno Grand Prize. From the Japanese Government he has received the prestigious Minister of Education Award for Fine Arts, Medal with Purple Ribbon, and Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette.
Mr. Nagai’s works are included in the permanent collections of more than 20 museums worldwide, including the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design, Museum of Modern Art, New York (MoMA), and Metropolitan Museum of Art.

 Born in Tokyo. In 1956, after graduating from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts & Music (now called Tokyo University of the Arts), where he majored in Design, he joined the advertising department at Shiseido. Later he moved to Deska until 1961, when he established Nakajo Design Office. Nakajo's major work in a career now spanning more than four decades includes: art direction and design for Hanatsubaki, Shiseido's cultural magazine, and for The Ginza / Tactics Design; logo and packaging design for Shiseido Parlour; logo and signage planning for the Tokyo Ginza Shiseido Building; corporate identity (CI) planning for Matsuya Ginza, Wacoal Spiral, the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, and Hosomi Museum; illustrations for "Nihongo de Asobo" (Let's Play in Japanese), a children's program on NHK; and cover illustrations for Kurashi no Techo magazine. Among his numerous awards received to date are the Tokyo Art Directors Club Members Award Grand Prize, the Tokyo Type Directors Club Members'  Gold Prize, the Yusaku Kamekura Design Award, the Mainichi Design Award, the Japan Advertising Awards' Yamana Prize, and – from the Japanese Government – a Medal of Honor with Purple Ribbon and The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette. The Asahi Advertising Award, the Mainichi Advertising Award, the Warsaw International Biennial Gold and and Special Mention Awards, the Kinugasa Award, the Yamana Award, and the Advertising Dentsu Award. Born in Tokyo. In 1988, upon graduating from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, he joined Light Publicity. since 2001, he has worked freelance as a graphic designer and art director. Born in Osaka. In 1936, graduated from Osaka City Kogei High School (Design Course). After stints working in the advertising department of Mitsukoshi and Kintetsu department stores, went freelance in 1952. His main awards include the Osaka Arts Prize in 1954; the 1st Mainichi Industrial Design Award (today's Mainichi Design Award) om 1955; also became a member of AGI: participated in "Graphic'55" exhibition. In 1960, he served as a panelist at the World Industrial Design Conference and in 1970, participated in the basic color planning for the World Expo in Osaka. In 1981, he received the 12th Kodansha Culture Award in Publishing, in 1982, was awarded a Medal with a Purple Ribbon by the Japanese Government and in 1984, received the 5th Yamana Prize. In 1988, was awarded the Fourth Order of the Rising Sun Medal by the Japanese Government. In 1996, was inducted into the Tokyo ADC Hall of Fame. His works are in the permanent collections in many museums around the world. His main publications include "The World of Yoshio Hayakawa," the collection of essays, "Feeling to Pass the Time," and a collection of dialogues, "In Between Emptiness and Substance."

武蔵野美術大学教授。2002年より、無印良品のアートディレクションを担当。「もの」ではなく「こと」のデザインを志向している。「RE-DESIGN」「HAPTIC]「SENSEWARE」など既存の価値観を更新するキーワードを擁する展覧会を制作し、世界に巡回。また、長野オリンピックの開・閉会式プログラムや、愛知万博のプロモーションでは、深く日本文化に根ざしたデザインを展開した。一連のデザイン活動によって日本文化デザイン賞ほか受賞多数。著書多数。

He is a professor at Musashino Art University, and prolific writer. Since 2002 he has served as art director for MUJI. He aspires to designing "states" rather than "things." Among his creations are exhibitions - which have toured worldwide - embracing key words that overturn pre-exciting valued: for example, "RE-DESIGN," "HAPTIC" and "SENSEWARE." Meanwhile, for his design of the programs for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics and his promotional campaign for AICHI EXPO 2005, he developed designs deeply rooted in Japanese culture. For his design activities he has garnered numerous awards, including the Japan Inter-Design Forum Award.

東京生まれ、理工学を学んだ後、多摩美術大学卒業。デザイナーへの道に進む。流行通信社でグラフィックデザインを手がけた後、プロダクションを経て、1994年Higraph Inc. Tokyoを設立。グラフィックや映像をベースに、現在はWEBプロジェクトやプロダクト、空間など、メディアを横断する活動を展開。ストリートや音楽に根ざしたグラフィックから、トータルなコンセプトデザインまで、大小問わず様々なプロジェクトに取り組んでいる。

Born in Tokyo. Initially studied science and engineering, but after graduating from Tama Art University began pursuing a career in design. At Ryuko Tsushin, worked first in graphic design and then production. In 1993, established Higraph Inc. Tokyo. Based on graphics and imagery, currently he engages in a broad media spectrum including Web projects, products and spatial art. He engages in projects of all scales while moving freely between everything from graphics rooted in street art and music to total concept design.

Born in Gifu Prefecture, he completed graduate work in the Art Department of Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. In 1982, while in graduated school, he won 3rd Japan Graphic Exhibition Minister's Award, the 1st Japan Illustration Exhibition Grand Prix and the highest prize at the 30th ADC Awards. He became host for an NHK education TV program, "You," in 1985. Recently, he has had one-man shows in Paris, Barcelona, London and Bruxelles, participated in the 6th Sydney Biennial in 1986 and had a wide range of activities including the "Japanese Art Scene" in Frankfurt in 1990, stage art ""Kokusenya Katsusen" for Yume no Yuminsha), and the interior design for tte J. trip Bar among others. He had a 2-man show, onjin "POCCИЯ (Russia)" with Lulu Picasso in 1991 and a 3-man show, "X department Exhibition" with Noriyuki Tanaka and Atsuhito Sekiguchi.

野田秀樹演出「から騒ぎ」「真夏の夜の夢」「エッグ」「MIWA」、夢の遊眠社「透明人間のゆげ」など、多数の舞台のための衣装他、雑誌、ポスター、「suntory boss silky black」「KAGOME野菜一日これ一本」「ロッテ　カリンのど飴」等のテレビＣＭ、ダンス、映画、「宇多田ヒカル」「ドリカム」「大塚愛」「ゆず」「一青窈」等のPVやＣＤジャケットなど、幅広い分野で、ファッション・デザイナーと異なる視点で独自のコスチュームをつくり続ける。
1997年、作家名を内藤こづえより、ひびのこづえに改める。
2003年よりNHK教育テレビ（Eテレ）「にほんごであそぼ」衣装・セット担当、キャラクターのコスチュームや童謡コーナーのミニチュアセットなど、現在も制作している。翌年より、NHK教育テレビ（Eテレ）「からだであそぼ」の衣装・セットも担当（2009年番組終了まで）。

Born in Shizuoka Prefecture, Kodue Hibino graduated from the Visual Communications Course of the Design Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music (now the Tokyo University of the Arts) in 1982 and later launched her career as a costume artist in 1988.
Hibino has created costumes for many theatrical productions by Hideki Noda, including "Much Ado About Nothing," "A Midsummer Night's Dream," "Egg," and "MIWA," and "Tomeiningen no Yuge," a work that Noda crafted with Yume no Yuminsha. Hibino's credits also include projects for magazines, posters, and TV commercials, including spots for Suntory Boss Silky Black, Kagome Yasai Ichinichi Kore Ippon, Lotte Karin throat lozenges, as well as dance performances, films, album covers, and music videos for artists such as Hikaru Utada, Dreams Come True, Ai Otsuka, Yuzu, and Yo Hitoto. A truly versatile artist, Hibino embodies a unique perspective on costume creation that ventures outside the traditional scope of fashion design.
In 1997, she changed her artist name from Kodue Naito to Kodue Hibino.
Since 2003, Hibino has been making character costumes and miniature sets for nursery rhyme segments on "Nihongo de Asobo," a program on NHK Educational TV (E-Tele), as the show's director of costuming and set design. She also handled costumes and sets for "Karada de Asobo," another program on E-Tele, from 2004 until the end of the show's run in 2009.

1938年生まれ。装丁家、グラフィックデザイナー。武蔵野美術学校デザイン科卒業。高島屋宣伝部を経てフリーとなる。64年から晶文社の装丁を手がける。また演劇集団黒テントの活動に長く携わる。73年「ワンダーランド」創刊。78年「水牛通信」「水牛楽団」参加。84年「講談社出版文化賞」ブックデザイン賞受賞。

父の赴任先京城（現：ソウル）に生まれる。1957年 武蔵野美術大学の前身、武蔵野美術学校に入学。在学中の1960年、当時グラフィックデザイナーにとっての登竜門的存在であった日宣美展（日本宣伝美術会）において『見る前に跳べ』（大江健三郎の小説）で特選を受賞。卒業後、高島屋宣伝部に入社、その後フリーのグラフィックデザイナーとなる。
1964年から1992年の30年弱にわたり晶文社の装丁を一手に担う。ひとりのデザイナーが一社の装丁を全て手掛けるのは稀有なことであり、当時のカウンター・カルチャーの旗手であった晶文社のスタイルを作り上げ、出版会に旋風を巻き起こした。装丁の仕事は他社にもひろがり、独特の「描き文字」、躍動するデザインの装丁は現在に至るまで7000冊におよぶ。
1960年代半ばから平野は晶文社の編集長でもあった畏友　津野海太郎とともに演劇活動に参加。六月劇場、劇団黒テントを中心に演劇ポスターやチラシをつくり、舞台装置も手がけた。
1973年 植草甚一編集雑誌『ワンダーランド』のアートディレクターとなり、新鮮な誌面づくりはいまだに伝説として語り継がれている。
1978年から高橋悠治らが始めたバンド「水牛楽団」、アジア民衆文化通信『水牛通信』の活動に加わり、演劇活動とは別の表現方法を獲得していく。これはいまでも平野甲賀の根底を流れている。
2005年から2013年、神楽坂上の岩戸町に小劇場「シアターイワト」をオープン。
2014年より香川県小豆島に移住。


Born in Keijo, Korea(now Seoul),where his father was posted on business.
1957: Entered Musashino Art School, forerunner to today's Musashino Art University. While still a student in 1960, Hirano was awarded a special prize for his work on Kenzaburo Oe's Leap Before You Look  by the Japan advertising Artists Club, then considered a gateway to success for graphic designers. After graduation, he joined Takashimaya Department Store's advertising department, and later went freelance as a graphic designer.
For nearly 30 years between 1964 and 1992, Hirano served as the solo cover designer for Shobunsha. Indeed, it is a rare feat for a single designer to handle all of a publisher's output. Shobunsha was the standard-bearer of the counterculture in those day's, and Hirano's unique style blew a breath of fresh air through the publishing establishment.
this led to work from other clients, and Hirano's distinctive "decorative text" and dynamic designs graced the covers of some 7,000 books.
In the mid-1960s, Hirano began participating in theater along with Kaitaro Tsuno, his esteemed friend and also an editor at Shobunsha.
Give his talents, he was drafted to make posters, flyers, and even stage decorations for troupes such as Rokugatsu Gekijo and the Black Tent Theatre.
1973: Hirano was appointed art director of "Wonderland" magazine, edited by Jinichi Uekusa, and his vibrant page designs become the stuff of legend.
1978: Hirano joins Suigyu Gakudan, a band formed by Yuji Takahashi et al, and joined the staff of "Suigyu Tsushin," a newsletter reporting on Asian popular culture, finding new outlets for his creativity. The influence of there activities can still be seen in Hirano's works today.
2005-2013: Hirano opened Theatre Iwato, a small theater in Iwato-cho in Tokyo's Kagurazaka district.
2014: Hirano relocated to Shodo Island in Kagawa Prefecture.

日本デザイナー学院広島校卒業後、上京。浅葉克己デザイン室を経て、1985年ADK入社。1999年福島デザイン設立。2010年より「デザインにおける社会貢献の可能性」を探求するため、数多くのソーシャルプロジェクトを企画、実施している。障がい者アートライブラリー「Artbility」の活動支援をはじめ、東日本大震災の被災地支援活動として「UNICEF祈りのツリープロジェクト」、「JAGDAやさしいハンカチ展」などの企画、実施を行っている。

After graduating from the Hiroshima branch of Nippon Designers School, he relocated to Tokyo and joined the design office of Katsumi Asaba. He remained there until 1985 when he joined  ADC, staying there until he went freelance in 1999. since 2010, looking for possible ways of making social contributions through design, Mr. Fukushima has planned and carried out numerous social projects. These include two activities in support of regions affected by the Great East japan Earthquake: UNESCO's "Player Tree Project" and the JAGDA exhibition "Handkerchiefs for Tohoku Children."

Joined Heibon-sha in 1973. After working on the editorial staff of "Anima" and "Taiyo," he left the publisher in 1981 and founded CAP in 1983. His previous credits as art director include "Marie Claire," "Ryuko Tsushin" and "olive." At present he handled "VOGUE NIPPON," "GQ JAPAN," "GINZA," "BRUTUS," "Casa BRUTUS," and "STUDIO VOICE." He has designed about 100 magazines. He has also designed ad campaigns for Louis Vuitton, Beams, and Roppongi Hills. In 1996, he opened the gallery ROCKET in Harajuku. After moving to Omote Sando, the gallery opened the store ROCKET to sell works of art.

Born in Hiroshima, he left Osaka University of Arts. In 1970, he traveled through the Silk Road from Russia and Europe. After the advertising department of Takashimaya, he established the Keizo Matsui Design Office in 1984 and Hundred Design Inc. in 1992. His many awards include the Japan-America Graphic Design Exhibition Silver Award and the Tokyo ADC Award. Recently, he is primarily involved graphic design but also many genre such as packaging, the environment, film, and architecture. He has has exhibition abroad such as "China Graphic Design '96" (China) and "Matsui-Graphkdesign aus Japan" (Germany). His books include "3D Graphics" (Rikuyosha) and "Keizo Matsui: The Graphic Designer" '(Chugoku Seinen Publishing Co.). Throughout his career he has undertaken “design by talking” – developing a design by a process similar to speaking – and “design by listening” – designing by probing the origins of things. Working from an underlying theme of “realizing from realization,” he infuses emotional communication into serene expression. His major works to date include the kit for the 2003 Icograda Congress in Nagoya, promotion of the ThinkPad for IBM Japan, Ltd., logomarks for BELLE MAISON, Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences, KEIKYU Department Store, etc. In recent years a book about his “Apple” project – subtitled “Learning to Design, Designing to Learn” – was published in Switzerland (Lars Müller Publishers) for worldwide circulation. Among the numerous prizes he has received at home and abroad to date are the JAGDA New Designer Award, Japan Typography Annual Grand Prix, Tokyo Type Directors Club Bronze Award, International Poster Triennial in Toyama Silver Prize, New York Art Directors’ Club Bronze Award, etc. In addition to “APPLE,” he has also published “Ken Miki Selected Works 1994-2002” (amus arts press). Major works include artwork for Mr. Children and Salyu, art direction for Nissan's "NOTE," Sanyo Shokai's "AMACA," Kirin Brewery's "Hachigatsu no Kirin" and "Komugi," and the University of Tokyo Faculty of Letters' Koten wo yomu (Reading the Classics). She has added her individual touch to numerous advertisements and editorial works.

山形県生まれ。早稲田大学大学院理工学部研究科修了。慶應義塾大学理工学部非常勤講師。建築、ランドスケープ、グラフィック、プロダクト、家具、写真、アート、彫刻、評論を手がける。ワルシャワ国際ポスタービエンナーレ特別賞（1980）／金賞（1990）、原弘賞（1988）、桑沢賞（1995）、講談社出版文化賞ブックデザイン賞（1995）、勝見勝賞（1999）等。『VISION OFJAPAN』（1991）ほか著書、作品集多数。また建築作品「市川の家」（2003）で2004年千葉県建築文化奨励賞、「コンカード横浜」（2008）で神奈川県建築コンクール奨励賞を受賞。

Born in Yamagata Prefecture. Graduated from Waseda University with a degree in Creative Science and Engineering (Architecture). Currently an instructor in the Faculty of Science and Technology of Keio University. actively engaged in architecture, landscape design graphic design, product design, furniture design, photography, fine art, sculpture and criticism. Among his architectural works, "House of Ichikawa" (2003) won the 2003 "Selected Architecture Design" award from Chiba Prefecture, and "Concurred Yokohama" (2008) an award of merit in the Kanagawa Architecture Competition.
