Profile
After graduating in 1986 from the MFA Academy of Fine Arts in Sophia, Bulgaria, she worked in Bulgaria as a graphic designer and illustrator. She moved to New York in 1991 and established the Luba Lukova Studio, which she still runs. Her many clients include the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, Time and Sony Music. Her numerous prizes, including the Gold Medal at the International Poster Biennale in Mexico, the ICOGRADA Excellence Award at the International Poster Festival in Chaumont, France; and a Merit Award from the Society of Illustrators, New York. Her works are included in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Museum of Modern Art, Toyama and the Museum für Kunst and Geverbe in Hamburg, among many others. She has been a teacher at the School of Visual Arts, New York since 1996.
