Profile
Born in Kyoto, he got his M.A. in design from UCLA in 1977 and was a teaching assistant in video and computer graphics. In Japan, he worked in the Takenobu Igarasghi Design Studio before established Polygon Pictures in 1983. Main works include a 6-disc video disc series, and in computer graphics, "Dancing Sony," and "In Search of performing Axis" among others. He won the 1991 Tokyo Typo-Directors Club Members' Gold Award and published "a Collection of Works by Toshifumi Kawahara: Dancing Alphabet" (Rikuyosha).
