Born in Dresden, Germany, he studied at he Peter Baren Vocational Training School in Dusseldorf during the latter half of the 1960's. He worked after that as a freelance graphic designer and copy writer. His studio was established in 1970 and is involved in many poster design recently. His many awards include the 5th Lahti International Poster Biennale Grand Prize in 1983, the Honorary Award at the 12th Warsaw International Poster Biennale and the Grand Design Quality Award at the 1993 German Communication Design Competition.
