1997年11月でオープン6周年を迎えたdddギャラリー。その軌跡の一つの集大成として、これまでの企画展に参加した世界各国のアーティストによる6周年記念「GLOBAL展」が開催された。世界17か国から第一線で活躍するデザイナー33名を迎えたグローバルな展覧会。作品はすべて、この記念展のために制作されたオリジナル。テーマは自由だが、DnpDuoDojimaの名にちなんだ2枚1組のデュオポスターという新機軸に注目が集まった。グラフィック・コミュニケーションは今、どこへ向かおうとしているのか。イマジネーションの翼は、何を俯瞰しようとしているのか。自国の文化や環境問題などにスポットをあてたものなど、世界を代表するアーティストの競演に、グラフィックデザインの最前線があった。

The ddd Gallery had its 6th anniversary since its opening in November, 1997. As a way to bring together where we've been, the Global Exhibition commemorating the 6th anniversary was held with artists from countries around the world who had participated in the planned exhibition. 33 designers from 17 countries participated in thie trulu GLOBAL exhibition. All the works were originals made for this commemorative exhibition. The themes varied but attention focused on the new attempt of having two works make up one work, a take-off from the name, DNP Duo Dojima. The competition between the leading artists of the world is the cutting edge of graphic design. 

初日のギャラリートークでは、作家ではなく、ヨーロッパのキュレーターが客観的な視点から世界のデザインの現状を解説した。キューレーターの視点からヨーロッパでデザイナーとして、日本人の名前も相当数あげられた。

Born in Chicago. After graduating from the photography department of an art school, he went to Paris, Milan and London. He then started a design group, THIRST, in Chicago. He is working internationally as a highly sensitive AD. He has many awards from New York ADC, the ADC 100 Show, AIGA and "Graphis." He is an AIGA member.

With a degree in graphic design from Utah University, he started working for the SBG Studio in San Francisco in 1979. Michael Marby Design was established in 1981. He was the San Francisco General Manager for the American Graphic Arts Association and also on the Board of Directors. He won the Marcy Larson and Belle Ringer Awards in 1989.

1998年、10年間の活動をまとめた作品集がブース・クリボーン社より出版される。2004年には続く5年間の活動をまとめた作品集第2弾がテムズ・アンド・ハドソンより刊行。1993年にディレクター業に専念するためグリーンホルグが去って以来、スタジオはアルトマンとエリスにより運営されているが、つくることと実験への愛が変わることはない。依然、グラフィックデザインの領域を打破すべく取り組んでおり、近年のプロジェクトであるアーティスト ゴードン・ヤングとのコラボレーションは、Why Notをパブリック・アートの世界へと導いた。

This was established in 1987 by Andrew who handled graphics, David　Ellis and Howard Greenhalf who handled film upon their graduation from the British Royal University of Art. They had already established their reputations and made a name for themselves while they were in school but they then had to see how far they could go in the real world. They chose the name "Why Not" for the Associates half as a joke anticipating the criticism they would get. Why Not Publishing was established in 1990 to replace Why Not Films. They currently also lecture on design at the Royal University of Art.

On leaving the Royal College of Art in 1987 (with just three drawing boards) fellow graduates Andy Altmann, David Ellis and Howard Greenhalgh immediately formed the multi disciplinary design group Why Not Associates. For over 25 years Why Not Associates have become known for creating innovative work that pushed the boundaries of traditional graphic design. They have achieved this by a love of experimenting in many different media and applying it through corporate identity, motion graphics, television commercials direction, editorial design, publishing and environmental design. Why Not Associates clients include the Royal Academy of Arts, Malcolm Mcclaren, Pompidou Centre, Royal Mail, Nike, Paul Smith, Virgin Records, Antony Gormley, BBC, Channel 4 and the Tate Modern.
In 1991 Why Not Associates collaborated with Edward Booth-Clibborn and Rick Poyner to edit and design Typography Now: The Next wave – which became the most significant, most referenced, best selling survey of typographic trends and thinking of its time.
A monograph was published in 1998 by Booth-Clibborn editions documenting the first ten years of their work. A second was published in 2004 by Thames and Hudson which documented another five years.
The studio (now run by Altmann and Ellis after Greenhalgh left in 1993 to pursue a directing career) remains as committed as ever to the love of making and experimentation. They still strive to push the boundaries of graphic design and more recent projects collaborating with artist Gordon Young have moved them into the world of public art.

Born in Hawaii, he got a B.A. from the University of Hawaii 1985 and Cranbrook Academy of Art in 1990. He went to Study in Holland on a Fulbright in 1990. After the Studio Dumber, he became the senior director of Hard Velkon Design. He has many design awards from organizations such as the London D&AD (Design & Art Directors Club) , the American Design Center and the TDC among others.

Russel Warren-Fisher received an M.A. in graphic design in 1986 from the London College of Printing. Based in London, he freelanced as a designer. He has been a guest lecturer at the Royal college of Art  and Central Martin School/ He won the 1986, 1988 and 1989 Design and Art Direction Award.

He got his M.A. in art from the Minneapolis Art & Design College. He was the design director for Dayton's Hudson's and Marshall Fields, the department store chain with 64 stores in the Chicago, Detroit and Minneapolis areas. He is currently design director for the leading Minneapolis corporation, The Kuester Group. Some of his works are in the permanent collections of London's Victoria and Albert Museum.

He graduated from the graphic design department of the Applied Art Faculty of the Zurich University of Formative Art . He later established Integral Concept, a design studio with Pippi Liony and Phillipe Deli. The are involved in design activities mainly in visual identity or orientation information for museums, public organizations, social groups or cultural events. They won firs prize at the International Keel Week, a visual identity competition held in Germany in 1984. He is an AGI member.

After studying conceptual art at Hartford University in Connecticut, U.S.A., she received her bachelor's degree in graphic design from the Massachusetts University of Art in Boston. After working as an art director for Levy Strauss, she won the Annual Designer Grand Prize at the 1991 Market Larsen Awards, the New York ADC Gold and the San Francisco ADC Gold. She is an advisor to the San Francisco AIGA (American graphic arts association) and a lecturer in the graphic design department of the California University of Industrial Arts.

ドイツのドレーゼン生まれ。1960年代後半にデュッセルドルフのペーター・バーレン職業訓練学校で学んだ後、フリーのグラフィックデザイナー、コピーライターとして活動。1970年スタジオ設立。近年はポスターデザインを多く手がける。1983年第5回ラハチ国際ポスタービエンナーレで大賞、第12回ワルシャワ国際ポスタービエンナーレで名誉賞、1993年ドイツ・コミュニケーションデザイン・コンクールで最高デザイン・クオリティ賞など多数受賞。

Born in Dresden, Germany, he studied at he Peter Baren Vocational Training School in Dusseldorf during the latter half of the 1960's. He worked after that as a freelance graphic designer and copy writer. His studio was established in 1970 and is involved in many poster design recently. His many awards include the 5th Lahti International Poster Biennale Grand Prize in 1983, the Honorary Award at the 12th Warsaw International Poster Biennale and the Grand Design Quality Award at the 1993 German Communication Design Competition.

Born in Mexico, he studied graphic design by going to Milan in Italy in 1976. After he returned to Mexico in 1977, he worked with Vicente　　Rojo  at the Publishing company, Maderoa, which is known for having fostered many designers. Montalvo was then chosen as one of 6 graphic designers to make the ICOGRADA 25th Anniversary Commemoration in 1988. He worked as a director in the Salumo Design Offices from 1989 to 1993 primarily on cultural projects. He is currently freelancing. He is a member of System de Creadores (a nationwide creators) oeganization and Quorum & Drama Visual (a theatrical video association).

チュニス（チュニジア）生まれ。パリ国立美術学校の絵画科を卒業後、早い時期からポスターやグラフィックアートに取り組む。ポスターアーティストとして、主に、公的機関の文化（演劇、オペラ、音楽、舞踏、美術館、フェスティバル）活動の仕事を手がける。また、本のデザイン・制作を行うほか、自分のアトリエに所属するグラフィックデザイナーたちと共同で、数多くの公的機関のビジュアル・アイデンティティや、フランス内外の美術館や特別展のサインシステムをデザイン・制作している。

Born in France, he graduated from the National Parisian School of Art. He received attention at places such as International Poster Biennale, Warsaw in 1986. Not limiting himself to France, he participated in many biennales and joint exhibitions around the world. He had 38 solo exhibitions between 1986 and 1994. He is a prominent French and European poster artist. His many awards include the 1987 and 1992 Paris National Library Cultural Poster Grand Prize and the 1988 International Graphic Design Biennale, Bruno, Bronze Award.

Born in Tunis （Tunisia). Graduated from l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts of Paris （painting section）, he turned to poster and graphic design early on. As a poster designer, he mainly works in the field of culture （theater, opera, music, dance, museum, festival) and that of institutions （local collectivities, public institutions）. He also designs and produces books and, in cooperation with graphic designers of his studio, designs and produces numerous visual identities for public institutions as well as description systems for museums and temporary exhibitions in and out of France.
As such, he has organized individual exhibitions of posters in France and in a number of foreign countries （Holland, Germany, Rumania, Yugoslavia, Poland, Austria, Portugal, Mexico, URSS, Uruguay, Chili, Finland, India, Philippines, Peru, Cuba, Greece, South Africa, Italy, Czechoslovakia, Argentine, Hungary, Albania, Spain, Japan, Denmark, Turkey, Paraguay, China, Malta, Bolivia, Cambodia, Ecuador and Canada）. He has won numerous awards from most of the great international competitions of poster design （Poland, Finland, Czechoslovakia, USA, China, Japan, Russia, Taiwan…） where he had also been invited as member of the jury on many occasions. In France, he was awarded the Great Award of Cultural Poster at the National Library of France in 1987 and 1992.
He also devotes his time to education: he is professor at ESAG/Penninghen in Paris. He also runs poster design workshops in France, Italy, Sweden, Israel, Canada, Mexico, Bolivia, Paraguay, Brazil, China, Taiwan and Australia.
He is commissioner to the exhibitions "Graphic Designers around the World", "East Coast / West Coast. Graphic Designers in USA", "Swinging London, Graphic Design and Music Today", "9 Women Graphic Designers", "We love books! A World Tour", "The American Dream", "Live in Tokyo" and "Destination Russia", "North-South. Graphic Designers of Europe and Latin America" presented in 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012 at the Graphic Design Month in Echirolles （books published at Textuel Editions）, and to "The Livre de Poche is 50 years old" in March 2003 at the Pompidou Center in Paris. He was general commissioner to the Graphic Design Festival in 2014 in Paris.
He is member of the AGI （Alliance Graphique Internaionale) since 1997.

He graduated from the Humber college of Applied Arts in Toronto, Canada, in 1975. After working as a design director for the Canada Continental Bank for 6 years, he established the Terrelonge Co., with a staff of five people, in 1986 where all-encompassing design activities including marketing strategies take place. Project undertaken have not been limited to Canada but cover a wide area including the U.S., hong kong and Japan.

Born in Barcelona, Spain, he began working professionally in 1965 and was a freelance illustrator in Paris after 1970. He returned to Barcelona in 1977 and established a studio. His clients include Barcelona City, the Cultural Department of the Cataluna government, Cataluna T.V., and La Bangualdia Newspaper. Torrent undertook the creation of an image for an AIDS organization in Spain. Additionally, he was entrusted with the making of the Barcelona Olympics commemorative stamp in 1992. Recently, he has been internationally active with projects in France, Japan and China. He has been the recipient of a number of awards from  the Graphic Designers Association of Spain. He has had solo exhibition in all parts of France and Spain.

カリフォルニア州立工芸大学で生物学専攻。大学院でメディカル・イラストレーションを学ぶ。1981年にロサンゼルスでプロのデザイナーとして活動を開始し、1983年にフリーランスのロゴ・デザイナーとして独立。ワーナー・ブラザース・レコードのプロジェクトへの参加を契機にレコード業界へ進出。その後プリンス、マドンナなどのCDジャケットを次々に手がけ、パッケージデザインやファッション分野にも進出している。

She majored in biology at California Polytechnic and medical illustration in graduate school. In 1981, she began working as a professional designer in Los Angeles. In 1983, she went on her own as a freelance logo designer. A record project with Warner Brothers gave her on opportunity to enter the world of records. Since then, she has done a number of CD Jackets including ones for Prince and Madonna. She has also entered the packaging and fashion areas.

Born in Mümliswil in the German speaking part of Switzerland and completed the preparatory course at the Kunstgewerbeschle, Lucerne. While studying graphic design with Hugo Wetli of Bern, he attended art schools in Basel and Bern. In 1972, he established his studio in Lausanne and started teaching at the Lausanne University of Art. In 1984, he established Les Atelier du Nord., a graphic industrial studio with friends. His works are in collections around the world  including the New York Museum of Modern Art.

Born in Neustrelitz (Mecklenburg), and was trained as a glass painter from 1955 to 1958 at the National Glass Technical School of Hadamar. He studied free production and applied graphics from 1958 to 1963 at Fine Arts of College of Kassel and became a graphic design professor at Kassel Comprehensive University. In 1987 he became the visual communication professor at Kassel University. Many of his works are in collections in leading museums around the world starting with the New York Museum of Modern Art.

He studied graphic arts at the Helsinki University of Industrial Arts. He worked for a Helsinki advertising company for two years after graduation. He has since been a freelance graphic designer specializing in illustrations and poster design. Currently, in addition to heading a graphic design studio, he is teaching at his alma mater. His many awards include 1990 Mexican Poster Biannale Gold Award.

His major Finnish awards include Pro Finlandia Medal, The State Industrial Arts Award and Graphic Artist of the Year. In Best Finnish Graphic Design competition Platinum Award and four Gold Awards, several Best Finnish Poster Prizes. International awards include e.g. Gold in Mexico International Poster Biennial ´90 and 2006, Icograda Excellence Award in Chaumont´90 and in Warsaw Poster Biennale 2010, Silver from Lahti IPB´91, 1st Prize in Rzeszow ITPB ´93, 1st Prize in Colorado CIIPE´99, Grand Prix Ecoplakat Triennial, Slovakia 2000 and Grand Prix of Trnava Poster Triennial 2012, Slovakia. Kari Piippo is a member of AGI.

Born in Brittany, France. Began his study of poster design in 1962. For 9 months in 1971, he studied under Poland's Henryk Tomaszewski in Warsaw. Tomaszewski's influence strengthened his resolve to express himself through poster designs. Returned to Brittany in 1972, where, while teaching art to children, he turned his graphic design talents to the creation of cultural, social and political posters. His many awards include the 1992 Mexican Poster Biennale Gold Award. He is a member of AGI.

He studied architecture and art at the University of Arkansas. In 1969, he started out as a designer with the Richards Group in Dallas. He opened the Pirtle Design Offices in Dallas in 1978 and has been working independently for about 10 years. In 1988, he joined Pentagram Design as a partner. His works are n collections around the world starting with the New York Museum of Modern Art.

Born in Coimbra in central Portugal, he is now in Porto, known for port wine. He has exhibited in the main poster and graphic biennales and triennales in countries around the world. His works have been in publications of various countries such as "Graphis" and "Idea." He placed first in children's illustrations in the Grulbenkian National Prize, the Illustration Grafiporto and the Portugal National Design Awards. He received a special award at the First Munich International Litfass Biennale. The Leipzig Book Biennale brought him the Bronze Award.

Born in Hong Kong. After working for about 10 years in an international advertising firm, he studied design by himself and established the Alan Chan Design Office in 1981. He was designated "Artist of the Year" in 1989 by the Hong Kong Artist Guild.

Ken Cato, who heads the Cato Design Inc., is also well known as a graphic designer and has won many awards at home and abroad. His works are in collections of museums  and galleries around the world. He is an AGI member. His many books include "From an Office Ares Point a View," "Design for Businesses," and "First Choice."

独学の、独立デザイナー。ポスター、書籍、パンフレット、さらに音楽作品やテレビ用のグラフィック制作にも携わっている。ブルノ・デザイン・ビエンナーレ最優秀賞、ニューヨーク・アートディレクターズ・クラブ金賞、メキシコ・ポスター・ビエンナーレ金賞、ショーモン・ポスター・フェスティバル・イコグラダ優秀賞、テレビアニメ・エミー賞など受賞多数。その作品は多くの美術館に常設展示されている。

He studied on his own and became an independent designer. He is involved in posters, books, pamphlets and even music and graphics for television. Awards include the highest award at the Bruno Design Biennale, the Gold at the New York Art Directors Club, the Gold at the Mexico Poster Biennale, the outstanding award at the Chaumont Poster Festival Icograda, and the Television Animation Emmy Award. His works are permanently displayed in many museums.

Born in Hiroshima, he left Osaka University of Arts. In 1970, he traveled through the Silk Road from Russia and Europe. After the advertising department of Takashimaya, he established the Keizo Matsui Design Office in 1984 and Hundred Design Inc. in 1992. His many awards include the Japan-America Graphic Design Exhibition Silver Award and the Tokyo ADC Award. Recently, he is primarily involved graphic design but also many genre such as packaging, the environment, film, and architecture. He has has exhibition abroad such as "China Graphic Design '96" (China) and "Matsui-Graphkdesign aus Japan" (Germany). His books include "3D Graphics" (Rikuyosha) and "Keizo Matsui: The Graphic Designer" '(Chugoku Seinen Publishing Co.). He is a member of AGI, NY.ADC, Tokyo ADC, Tokyo TDC and is a director of JAGDA.
