過去1年間（1999年5月～2000年4月）に発表・使用・掲載された約9,000点の応募作品を日本を代表するアートディレクター87名で構成される東京アートディレクターズクラブが4日間にわたり審査。選び抜かれた受賞作品、優秀作品を展示。

This year’s exhibition attracted some 9,000 works that were released, used, or published over the 12 months from May 1999 to April 2000. Prizewinners and works for inclusion in the "ART DIRECTION JAPAN 2000" (ADC yearbook) are selected following rigorous screening by 87 ADC members over four days. Before publication in the ADC Annual, prizewinning works and other outstanding entries displayed.

東京生まれ。1979年東京藝術大学デザイン科卒業。1981年同大学院修了。電通を経て、1984年佐藤卓デザイン事務所を設立。「ニッカ・ピュアモルト」の商品開発から始まり、「ロッテ・ミントガムシリーズ」「ロッテ・キシリトールガム」「大正製薬・ゼナ」「明治おいしい牛乳」等の商品デザインを手がけるほか、「BS朝日」「金沢21世紀美術館」等のVIデザイン、NHK教育「にほんごであそぼ」の企画メンバー及びアートディレクション、大量生産品をデザインの視点で解剖する「デザインの解剖」プロジェクトなどを手がける。東京ADC、東京TDC、JAGDA、日本デザインコミッティー、AGI会員。

Born in Tokyo. Graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, majoring in design, in 1979, and completed a graduate course at same University in 1981. Initially joined Dentsu, the established Taku Satoh Design Office in 1984. Created product designs for Nikka Pure Malt, Lotte Chewing Gum, Lotte XYLITOL Gum, Taisho Pharmaceutical's Zena nutritious drink, Meiji Dairies' "Oishii Gyunyu" milk, etc. Created VI for BS Asahi and the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa. Involved in planning and art direction of the "Nihongo de Asobo" TV Program on the NHK educational channel, and the "Analysis of the Mass-product Design" project. Member of Tokyo ADC, Tokyo TDC, JAGDA, AGI.
