文化面や経済面など困難な状況下にあるスイスのグラフィックデザイン界にあって、彼は自己をグラフィック創造者と位置づけ、数少ない文化ポスターによって自己のアイデンティティを確認し続けている氏のポスター30点に加え、その他小型グラフィックも展示。自身考案のエアーキャップを背景に使用した構成など、随所にこだわりを感じさせる展覧会となった。

In the culturally and economically difficult Swiss world of graphic design, he continues to maintain his position as a creator of graphics and affirm his identity through a small number of cultural posters. Along with 30 posters, small graphic works were exhibited. With compositions using an air cap he came up with as a background, his scrupulous attitude could be felt everyone.

穏やかな口調ながら妥協を許さない強い制作姿勢と質問に答えた「コンピュータは使っていない」という言葉が印象的であった。

Inspite of his quiet way of talking, his strong uncompromising attitude can be felt.

スイスのルツェルン生まれ。チューリッヒ・デザイン学校卒業と同時にスタジオ設立。ワルシャワ国際ポスター・ビエンナーレ金賞、モスクワ・国際ポスター・ビエンナーレ金賞、ショーモン国際ポスター・フェスティバル一等賞、スイス連邦デザイン賞など受賞多数。その昨比人はブルノ・グラフィックデザインギャラリー、ショーモン・ポスターコレクション、ハンブルク工芸美術館、テルアビブ美術館、富山近代美術館、ワルシャワ・ポスター美術館などに永久コレクションされている。AGI会員。

スイス、ルツェルン生まれ。1977~82年チューリッヒ芸術大学にてグラフィックデザインを学ぶ。1982年チューリッヒにデザインスタジオを設立。文化イベントのポスター制作に最も力を注ぐ。1992~2001年チューリッヒ芸術大学講師。2000~01年ベルリン芸術大学客員教授。2003年ルツェルン音楽大学、2010年よりバーゼル造形大学で教鞭をとる。ショーモン・ポスターフェスティバル金賞ほか受賞多数。作品はニューヨーク近代美術館永久保存ほか、世界中でコレクションされている。AGI会員。

Born in Lucerne, Switzerland, he established a studio on graduating from the Zurich Design School. His many awards include the Gold from the Warsaw International Poster Biennale, the gold from the Moscow International poster Biennale, First Prize from the Chaumont International Poster Festival, and the Swiss Federation Design Award. His works are in the permanent collections of the Bruno Graphic Design Gallery, the Chaumont Poster Collection, the Hamburg Industrial Arts Museum, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, the Toyama Museum of Modern Art, and the Warsaw Poster Museum. He is an AGI member.

Born in Lucerne, Switzerland. Upon graduation in 1982 he opened his own design studio. his primary focus is on the creation of posters for cultural events. In 1992-2001 he taught at the Zurich School of Design; in 2000-01 a guest professor at Berlin University of the Arts; since 2003 he has been teaching at Lucerne University of Applied Science and Arts; since 2010 at Basel School of Design. Among his many awards won to date are the Gold Medal at the Chaumont Poster Festival. His works are included in the permanent collection of the MoMA and in other collections worldwide. He is a member of AGI.

広島県生まれ。大阪芸術大学中退。1970年ロシア、ヨーロッパを経てシルクロードを歩く。髙島屋宣伝部を経て、1984年松井桂三デザイン室、92年ハンドレットデザインインク設立。日米グラフィックデザイン展銀賞、東京ADC賞ほか受賞多数。最近はグラフィックデザインを中心に広告、パッケージ、環境、映像、建築など様々なジャンルを手がける。「チャイナグラフィックデザイン'96」（中国）、「MATSUI=GRAPHIKDESIGN AUS JAPAN」（独）など海外で展覧会開催。著書に『3Dグラフィックス』（六耀社）、『平面設計士松井桂三』（中国青年出版社）がある。AGI、NY.ADC、東京ADC、東京TDC会員。JAGDA理事。

Born in Hiroshima, he left Osaka University of Arts. In 1970, he traveled through the Silk Road from Russia and Europe. After the advertising department of Takashimaya, he established the Keizo Matsui Design Office in 1984 and Hundred Design Inc. in 1992. His many awards include the Japan-America Graphic Design Exhibition Silver Award and the Tokyo ADC Award. Recently, he is primarily involved graphic design but also many genre such as packaging, the environment, film, and architecture. He has has exhibition abroad such as "China Graphic Design '96" (China) and "Matsui-Graphkdesign aus Japan" (Germany). His books include "3D Graphics" (Rikuyosha) and "Keizo Matsui: The Graphic Designer" '(Chugoku Seinen Publishing Co.). He is a member of AGI, NY.ADC, Tokyo ADC, Tokyo TDC and is a director of JAGDA.
