Profile
Born in Milan, he participated in a Futurist exhibition with plastic and paintings in 1927. He established MAC, a representational art group with Monet and others in 1945. He made a children's picture book with a new format. His "Original Xerography" (photocopy artwork) was announced throughout the world in 1965. In 1967, he held a class in visual design at Harvard University. A children's workshop was held at the Brera Museum of Art in Milan in 1977. His "art to play with" method was established. A "Great Munari Exhibition" was held in Tokyo at the Children's Castle in 1985. His is an honorary professor of architecture at Genova University and at honorary member of Harvard University. His over 60 books have been translated into many languages. His many awards include the Gold Compass Award.
