1993年度の年鑑に収録されたTDC受賞作品およびノミネート作品140点を展示。今年から新たに世界に目を向けた「クローズアップ部門」を創設。初回を飾ったのはチュニジアの書家、ニャー・マーダウィの作品。文化の差異を超えた文字の広がりに魅せられる。浅葉克己監修の「子供たちに贈るモンゴル文字の教科書」も同時展示。

The works of 140 awardwinners who were included in the 1993 yearbook and other nominated works were exhibited. A new, more international "close-up section" was staretd this year. Exhibited first were Tunisian calligrapher, Nja Mahdaouj's, works. We become fascinated with the letters that eliminate cultural differences. "Textbooks in Mongol made for Children" supervised by Katsumi Asaba was shown at the same time.

1933年東京生まれ。1956年東京藝術大学美術学部図案科を卒業後、資生堂宣伝部、デスカを経て1961年仲條デザイン事務所設立。主な仕事に40年以上にわたった資生堂『花椿』誌のアートディレクション及びデザイン、資生堂バーラーのロゴ及びバッケージデザイン、銀座松屋、スパイラル、東京都現代美術館、細見美術館のCl計画、またNHK Eテレ「にほんこであそぽ」のカルタイラスト、「暮しの手帖」誌の表祇イラストなど、グラフィックデザインを中心に活動。

 Born in Tokyo. In 1956, after graduating from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts & Music (now called Tokyo University of the Arts), where he majored in Design, he joined the advertising department at Shiseido. Later he moved to Deska until 1961, when he established Nakajo Design Office. Nakajo's major work in a career now spanning more than four decades includes: art direction and design for Hanatsubaki, Shiseido's cultural magazine, and for The Ginza / Tactics Design; logo and packaging design for Shiseido Parlour; logo and signage planning for the Tokyo Ginza Shiseido Building; corporate identity (CI) planning for Matsuya Ginza, Wacoal Spiral, the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, and Hosomi Museum; illustrations for "Nihongo de Asobo" (Let's Play in Japanese), a children's program on NHK; and cover illustrations for Kurashi no Techo magazine. Among his numerous awards received to date are the Tokyo Art Directors Club Members Award Grand Prize, the Tokyo Type Directors Club Members'  Gold Prize, the Yusaku Kamekura Design Award, the Mainichi Design Award, the Japan Advertising Awards' Yamana Prize, and – from the Japanese Government – a Medal of Honor with Purple Ribbon and The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette. Nakajo is a member of the Tokyo Art Directors Club, Japan Graphic Designers Association and Tokyo Illustrators Society, and he currently serves as Senior Vice President of the Tokyo Type Directors Club. He is also a visiting professor at Joshibi University of Art and Design.
