Hiroaki Nagai says his creative point of origin is the work he created for his arts and crafts classes in grammar school. "What I do now isn't much different," he says, "except that now, as an adult, I have to rely on myself as a tool while taking into consideration the circumstances that are presented to me." The "zukō" in his chosen exhibition title is a pun suggesting an interplay between drawing and himself. The gallery was dedicated to showing many of Mr. Nagai's representative works to date, including his posters and editorial work, and primarily featured new posters created in collaboration with 10 photographers using materials of various kinds of as spinning tops and architectural models. The breadth of his materials vividly reflected Mr. Nagai's wide range of interests.
