国内外の現代美術展などに出品されてきたchappieをはじめ、音楽のためのグラフィック、パッケージ、雑誌のデザイン、モーショングラフィック、VI、CIなど、グルーヴィジョンズの多岐にわたるカラフルな代表的デザインワーク200点を紹介。アートとデザインの境界などものともせずに軽々と行き来しつつ、まさにグルーヴィジョンズという表現の中にもグラフィックの普遍性が潜むという、ユニークなスタンスを持つ彼らの世界が再現された、パワフルな展覧会となった。

The exhibition featured 200 of Groovisions' representative design works spanning numerous fields, including their "chappie" character widely shown at contemporary art exhibitions, etc. worldwide, their graphics for musicians, package designs, magazine art direction and editorial design, motion graphics, VI, CI, etc. The exhibition was a powerful and colorful re-creation of Groovisions' unique world, a demonstration of how the move with light-footed ease across the boundaries separating art and design, an on the universality lurking in the graphics realm.

1993年に京都で設立。PIZZICATO FIVEのステージビジュアルなどを中心に活動。1997年に拠点を東京に移動。以来グラフィックとモーショングラフィックを中心に、様々な領域、クライアントのデザインを手がけている。1994年にオリジナルキャラクターchappieを開発。1999年に3枚のシングル、1枚のアルバムを発表し、京都髙島屋、NTTドコモ、富士フイルム、JTBなどのブランドイメージキャラクターとして活動する。作品集、展覧会多数。

Groovisions was formed in Kyoto in 1993, and its early activities centered on the creation of the stage visuals for the pop music group Pizzicato five. In 1997 they shifted their base to Tokyo, and since that time, working as a design studio, they have developed designs, notably graphics and motion graphics, for clients in diverse fields including the music group Rip Slyme, the Nishi-Nippon City Bank, Nike and Expo 2005. In 1994 they developed the original mascot character "chappie." In 1999 chappie released there singles and an album, and the character has serves as brand image for NTT Docomo, Fuji film and JTB. Groovisions has published numerous collections and held many exhibitions. 

Formed in Kyoto in 1993. GROOVISIONS has become famous by making films and graphics for a Japanese pop group, PIZZICATO FIVE. After moving to Tokyo in 1997, they became active as a design studio involved in a variety of media and working for diverse clients, with a focus on graphic and video production.

Major projects undertaken by them have included producing CD packaging and music videos for groups such as RIP SLYME and FPM (Fantastic Plastic Machine); visual identity and signage for shops such as “100%ChocolateCafe.” and THE NISHI-NIPPON CITY BANK (“ALL IN ONE” campaign); packaging for Japan Tobacco's cigarettes,CASTER; art direction and editorial design for magazines such as Kokokuhihyo and Metro Min.; directing window displays for Maison Hermès; art directing exhibitions such as “DO MORE WITH LESS: 40 YEARS OF THE NORTH FACE” and “Eames Design Charles & Ray Eames ”; and the production of motion graphics for NIKE, Expo 2005 Aichi Japan and Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan. In 1994 they created an original character known as “chappie.” In 1999 chappie released three singles and an album. The character has served as brand images for Takashimaya Kyoto, NTT DOCOMO, FUJIFILM and JTB.
