The Salzburg Festival has been offering world famous music and theater since 1920. About 50 posters made for this festival and various performances with artist from variegated genres were exhibited along with various pamphlets and stage photos. In the 1920's, when the festival first started, occasional advertising posters were the only visual expressions other than pure textual posters announcing performance schedules. After the festival was held a number of times, however, poster contents were held, famous artists form many areas began submitting works making it almost a history of visual expressions for festivals.
