An artist has almost limitless options when selecting a design, printing method, and paper. Is there any criterion for the selection? The relationship among design, printing, and paper has no small effect on the resultant work. We come across a lot of printed matter every day without paying much attention to it. Nevertheless, it passes through a number of processes before reaching its final form. Experimental items of work using the software called design, hardware called a printer, and material called paper, as well as the wonderful ideas of U.S. paper manufacturers and daring designs by American artists, are on display. Exhibition Summary: With the same kind of plates, materials and ink are changed to see the changes in the design. Experimental works with a poster printed on almost 30 kinds of paper and with special inks. New promotional tools from 8 American paper manufacturers were also exhibited.
